Clinical psychology is an experimental and applied field undergoing changes due to the influence of fundamental schools of psychology as well as related sciences and social demands. The reflection on its current tasks includes the past, present and future temporal dimensions as well as different activity contexts. It has been demonstrated that the achievements of clinical psychology indicate how important is constant consolidation of its level and identity. Some educational and organizational tasks should be solved by teams of researchers and practitioners. New, imposed tasks need to be related to a theoretical and methodological framework. The article discusses the significance of the influence of the macrosocial context and processes of globalization. It includes a critical analysis of the principles created according to Evidence-Based Practice in psychological assessment and treatment as well as their application in the conditions of Polish experimental and clinical practice. It was concluded that numerous challenges require constant discussion among researchers, academics and clinical practitioners.
