Abstrakt

The number of people born thus far due to Assisted Reproductive Technology is estimated for 4 millions. If the in vitro fertilization was treated as a scientific experiment, the precise knowledge of the health status of those people would allow the evaluation of the impact of this technology on the human population. While the information on the results of using the technology is rather poor, some data indicate that it can introduce additional mutational load into the human genetic pool.
