Abstract
This essay is a synthetic presentation of the issues of education in the speeches of the rectors of the Krakow University of Economics, inaugurating the academic year in the perspective of the 100th anniversary of its existence: the year of its foundation (1925) and the jubilees of the 20th, 25th, 50th, 75th, 90th and 100th anniversaries. The 100th anniversary of the establishment of the EU in Krakow encourages a variety of memories, analyses, and the formulation of plans and development strategies. It is also an encouragement for historical reflection on the University's approach to teaching and education – important elements of the university's mission, expressed in selected speeches of the rectors of the University of Economics in Krakow in the years 1925–2024.
