Abstract

The end of the 20th century, accompanied by the advent of digital technologies and the internet, marked the beginning of the fluid reality era. The first quarter of the 21st century showed that digital transformation has significantly impacted the culture, education, and lifestyle of Generation Z, a cohort that matured during
the proliferation of social media and a global network of dependencies. A salient characteristic of Generation Z is their pursuit of authenticity, coupled with a pronounced need for attention and acceptance. Scholars from diverse academic fields highlight the influence of individualism and societal changes on their behaviour.
In sports, this generation poses unique challenges. The reality, dominated by digital technologies, shapes the cognitive framework of young athletes, requiring a reflective approach from coaches. These professionals must adapt their methodologies, emphasizing flexibility, individualization, and psychological support.
By doing so, they can better comprehend the athletes' needs and facilitate their development, thereby creating effective training strategies.
