Abstract

In the paper I take up the defence of a theological ignorance of the authors connected with the so called New Atheism intellectual movement. Many criticisms have been directed at them concerning their lack of a deep knowledge in theology. The charges put forward was related to what I consider two levels of objections raised by theistic critics: epistemological and practical. Answering these two issues of epistemological validity of theology and practical consequences of institutionalized religions I show that the charges are not applicable. Although the opinion that the New Atheists are largely ingnorant on theological questions may well be true, nevertheless it cannot be considered as a charge.
