A Black Muse from Czarnolas
Abstract
The article outlines a „non-classic” face of Jan Kochanowski, the first true Polish poet and artist. The author points out his doubts about the nature of God, human and world and shows his melancholy. Against previous tradition, the author emphasizes a presence of the existential pessimism in entire Kochanowski’s work – not only in its decadent phase.
